Bonanza: ZINC's big draw and why it matters
What is the Bonanza actually?
Bonanza is the second-largest single-payout draw in ZINC. Every ZINC mining round has a 1-in-625 chance of triggering the Bonanza. When it triggers, the Bonanza pot is split between the winning tile miners.
When it doesn't trigger, the pot keeps growing.
There is no cap on how large the pot can get. Every round that passes without a Bonanza hit just keeps accumulating ZINC and SOL towards it.
How the pot builds
The Bonanza pot is funded by every round, with a portion of ZINC minted goes directly into the pot rather than distributed to miners. That ZINC sits there, untouched by the team or other miners.
On top of that, rounds that end with no winning miners, where nobody picked the winning tile, contribute all ZINC to the Bonanza pot as well.
The longer it goes without hitting, the heavier it gets.
The math behind 1 in 900
The number isn't random, it comes directly from the circular board:
Every mechanic in ZINC traces back to the element itself; the supply of 6,538,000 comes from the atomic weight, and the board size comes from the atomic number. And the Bonanza odds come from the board; nothing is random here.
So what does 1 in 625 mean in practice?
Each round lasts 30 seconds. That means 2 rounds per minute, 120 rounds per hour, 2,880 rounds per day.
With 1-in-625 odds, the Bonanza hits, on average, 4.6 times per day. Roughly once every 5.2 hours!
But of course, it's also totally random by design. Which means the Bonanza can hit twice within an hour, while it can also go 12 hours without landing. Both are statistically normal.
What happens when it hits?
The Bonanza triggers at the same moment the winning tile is revealed. Miners on the winning tile receive their normal round payout (their share of SOL from losing tiles, plus the standard ZINC mining distribution), and then the entire Bonanza pot on top of that.
The pot is split among winning tile miners proportional to how much SOL they deployed on that tile. If you put in 40% of the SOL on the winning tile, you receive 40% of the Bonanza pot. As easy as it gets.
After the hit, the pot resets. The next round starts fresh at zero and begins accumulating again toward the next Bonanza.
The only way to be there when it lands
The Bonanza has no signal. Just like the player's tile selection strategy is hidden, so are the chances to find out when exactly the next Bonanza will hit.
The only variable you control is whether you're in the mine when it happens. Miners who show up every round, every mining shift are eligible. The Bonanza doesn't reward the lucky, it rewards the real miners.
